Message: Ever heard of it? You run it through your engine to clean out all the carbon/gunk build up. A friend of mine did it to his 240SX, and it ran like a totally new car. It sounded better and pulled much harder.
My 1997 Dakota (5.2L SLT CC 4x4) has 124k miles on it, and I really want to run this crap through the engine to clean it out, as I'm positive it's lost some power over the years since it was built in 1997. My question is, where do I pour it? I heard you pour it in the PVC valve, but I wouldn't know where to locate that. Help, please.

Message: I've heard not to run any kind of engine cleaners like that as they eat away at seals, gaskets, etc. I've been told only to use them when youre looking to rebuild the engine soon. Makes cleaning the parts a lot easier.
How deep can that pond possibly be?

Message: I have been using seafoam in my oil, gas and through my intake for 4 years now. Never had any problem on cars with less than 15k all the way to cars with 150k. always had excellent results that I could actually feel right away. Go for it

Message: In my nissan I used to pour it through the throttle body. On my dodge I actually unhook the brake booster and stick the brake booster line down in the can and let it suck it into the engine while someone revs the engine to about 2k to keep it going. Right as you have used up about all the seafoam let the engine die. Just stop giving it gas and the seafoam will cut out the engine. Let it sit for 30 minutes or so and fire the engine up (after you reconnect the brake booster of course). I let the engine idle for a minute and the smoke should be pouring out of your tailpipe now. Pop the throttle a couple times revving the engine to 3k or so to dislodge any carbon off valves and moving parts then just let it idle till the smoke stops. After that your all good to go. I typicially use about 1/2 a can through the brake booster. I pour 1/2 can in the gas to clean the injectors and last about 200 miles before I change the oil add 1/2 can to the oil. It will clean the bearings, lifters and remove all sludge. Usually it will fill up your oil filter with crap if your engine is high milage so dont run it for too long with the cleaner in there or you might clog the oil filter. Running it through the oil really quiets valve rattle.

Message: Brake booster? Doesn't ring a bell, haha. I'll just pour it in the TB. Thanks a lot, scott.

Message: NAPA carries Sea Foam.
Just remember to pour it very slowly into the engine. If you pour it too fast, you can hydrolock the engine and probably break a rod or bend a valve.
