Message: Anyone else have problems with their ABS while offroading. Often times while im offroading and riding my brakes on the dirt I will begin to slide...when this happens what happens is basically what kinda should happen. The ABS will activate, make a noise which sounds kinda like spraying the windshield washer fluid on your windshield. Upon doing this my tires will just keep on rolling rather than stopping. It is rather anoying and I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem as well...
If anyone else does experience this... do you just unplug the ABS when you offroad? Or is there a way to fix this. Thx

Message: Sounds like something is wrong with your ABS. I have no problems stopping when I off road. As for disconnecting the ABS, I personally wouldn't do it. The ABS system is connected to a few other electrical systems. I can run through the wiring diagrams in my Hayne's booklet a little later and let you know more tomorrow.

Message: Depends. Do you have the EBC 125 system or the EBC 325 system?
Here's how to tell them apart:
The EBC 125 is a one channel, one HCU, to control hydraulic pressure to both REAR brakes during antilock braking, and one rear wheel speed sensor. A CAB mounted on top of the HCU controls the solenoids/valves.
The EBC 325 is a three channel, one HCU to control the FRONT and REAR brakes, two front wheel speed sensors, and one rear wheel speed sensor. The CAB mounted on the top of the HCU controls the solenoids/valves.

Message: Pull Fuse 8 in the Power Distribution Center. This is unswitched 12VDC to the Controller Antilock Brake (CAB). The Power Distribution Center is in the engine room.
Pull Fuse 27 in the Junction Block. This is ignition switched 12VDC to the CAB. The Junction Block is on the left side of your dashboard in the people room.

Message: Ok, Ive read through the owners manual of my truck...apparently the pulsing sensation I am feeling when I stop quickly on the dirt is "completely normal" and indicates that the ABS is working properly. Anyway, this feature is very...very anoying. I'm still wondering if I can just take out the fuses or somethin to turn them off for the short while that I'm not on pavement. Thx...
Oh and I have EBC 125 system....
