With a 2wd youll probly only be abel to fit 31's or maybe some 32's if your lucky.

I'll just be able to fit 33's with my 3" BL and I have a 4WD. I've only heard ppl running 33's with 3" BL and 3" Susp. with 2wd.

I am currently running 31x10.50s on stock 15x7 rims and the only rubbing I have is at full lock while in reverse. BTW, the truck is a 2wd. I would say that you could run 32s easily w/ just a 3" body lift.

You have to remember that with a body lift the frame is still in the same location and on most vehicles including dakotas, tires rub the frame more often than the body... so with stock rims, you probably wont go much bigger than 31s without really rubbing.

I agree with mccamp but all thats workable with different backspacing, but 33 is going to kill your power i went from 30s to 32 and now my 5th gear is useless now i gotta re-gear so keep that in mind, and ive got a 5.2 v-8 and still felt the power loss bigtime.

I agree. I have a quadcab with a 4.7, with 235 all terrains, I put 31s of the same brand all terrains on it and I felt a huge power loss. Due to the fact that I wasnt using it on anything worse than gravel I went back to 235s and am pleased with the power again. It is not horrible with 31s, I just wanted power vs. look/need for bigger tires.

I dont get it. How much power do u actually lose? I went from 31's to 32's and I felt a little loss but not enough to bug me. I want 33's since I've gone and done a body lift but I dont want to be miffed because I can't get around with my set up.

Put it this way after getting the tires and driving around town i didnt notice much, some loss but not much, its when you hit the highway for a 4 hour road trip that you should be doing 85 in 5th gear at 1900 rpm, now your in 4th gear and pedals to the floor just to keep it going at 65 mph at 2300-3000 rpm,and big hills or grades forget it,and i have every mod you can think of engine-wise so the motor has the power.I need to re-gear bad

I changed to 31s right before going on a 12 hour road trip each way. After 8 hours of the auto making odd shifts between 4th and overdrive on grades it eventually upset the computer enough to trip the TPS sensor. Then it drove like crap until I reset it. It was fine until the drive back and it did it again. Anyways...if you have a manual and dont plan on lots of road trips then it likely will fit, its just that your turning radius will be severly hampered and you will have to be careful about full turns at anything above 10mph, because if it happens to catch on your frame, something is going to break.

another thought is the bfg 33x10.5x15s they are a couple inches narrower and might help a little, I had those on an old land cruiser and they worked well... again it is all about what you want to do with your vehicle...the taller stance and higher clearance are nice for some applications..... since I have access to 4x4s, I just dont want to lose power, MPGs, steering/handling, ride quality, and dependability, all which may be compromised with the bigger tires and lift. I have lifted several of my past vehicles, all had oversized tires...It really isnt a question of can or cannot, it is just you weighing the positives and negatives... I guess in your situation, if I already had a 3 inch body lift I would go for the 33X10.5s and adjust the steering to not allow rubbing? If you already have 32s then 33s wont be very noticable..

85 at 1900 rpms, that'd be nice. I have to drop down to 4th going up the pass and sometimes even 3rd if I got someone riding my ass and I want to try to get away but I think that's just my good ole' 3.9 just doesnt like hauling 4500lbs up a 6% grade. Now I'm thinking an engine swap would be a good mod b4 my tires since I just got these tires not too long ago.
