Message: I doubt he drives with all those lights on while on the road. Some states youre only allowed to be driving with one set of auxillary lights besides your headlights on main roads. As long as you use them as brights and turn them off before approaching cars i dont see what the problem is.

Message: Actually as far as i know you can use any color or as many lights as you want but they must have a cover on them during street use, thats why i covered them, and yes it is annoying seeing blue when i open the doors but all in good time my friend.

Message: Bucket, that's sweet...mine is going to be really wimpy compared to that...i have decided to actually have two...one over the roof that is on my roof rack and another elevated over the bed that is more heavy duty. i have one over the roof now but the one over the bed will take a while since it will be muc h bigger and i will be making brackets for shovels, lights, axes, jacks, etc... nice pics though!

Message: i forgot to mention, the one over the bed will not be even with the roof basket, it will only be around 2 inches higher than the bed but will be easily removable...i am thinking c-clamps with some sort of lock on the bed rail...? anyway just thought i would expand a little more, bucket~how did you get your safari rack to mount? weld it to the bed? yours looks permanent though...

Message: Justin,Im not sure i would use c-clamps in my case the vibration would cause them to eventually come loose.on mine i thru bolted them down,But they can still be removed easily,Take some pics when your done .

Message: bucket...just letting you know i made some headway friday morning....got some new sqaure 1" metal tubing and cut to length for my bed....sometime this week i'll be trying to begin welding and some drilling for bolts...then i am thinking i will start making accessories for spare tire, light, jack, and shovel clamps....i mean i think i should completely finish the basket before i have it painted...don't you...i mean i wouldn't want the basket paint then be making up brackets for shovels, lights, etc...? anyway this week i will post some pics of the project....also some new pics of my truck...talk to you soon

Message: Yeah Justin, trying to figure out how to secure your items to the rack with brackets is kind of an experimental thing, somethings you might want to change or just tack weld on until your sure thats whats gonna work so definitely dont paint anything until your totally done and as long as you keep the bare metal inside the garage it wont start rusting that much, then when your totally done welding you can grind and clean it up,the hard part was figuring how to get the shovels mounted without tying them down or needing tools to remove them and yet not having them come off on the freeway or on a trail, also its better to take several weeks to do it than to rush getting it done and have to modify things after its already painted, but i found when i make something rather than buy it,I get what i want and enjoy it more, and when your out wheelin and someone wants a rack like that, well its a one-off.... no can do...sweet... yeah keep me posted Justin
