Subject: 33's on a stock suspension?? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 ext cab 4x4 v8 dakota
It has the factory trailer package and big 31'wheel combo
Just wondering if i can put 33x12.50R15 tires without having a lift done??
Will there be rubbing in a parking lot turn??front tires chaffing inner fender??
There looks to be plenty of room for the tires in the rear....whatta bout the front???
Any help would be appreciated.....

Message: No problem in the back.
In the front, there will be issues.
No lift most likely means yer gonna be doin some fender trimmin.

Message: sorry Buddy, you cant run them in the front without 3" of lift or some pretty serious trimming. you willl have to trim the front and rear edges of the wheel weel trim and then the back mud flap inside the wheel well. trust me, i tried it before lifting 3 inches. back is okay but not in the front with all stock.

Message: I think it may be possible with the right backspacing and alot of
fender trimming... try maybe 33 in the back and 32 up front, or
maybe just get a body lift, their pretty cheap to buy.

Message: The only problem with that, Paul, is when he shifts into 4WD, or if he has AWD. Different tire sizes front and back will do bad things.
Same size tires all around is the no-worries way to go from that aspect.

Message: They will fit fine....trimming might be needed if you wheel it, but you wont need to trim much...Fourxfore and I have both run and wheeled our trucks with 33's on the stock suspension untill we got jeeps...I am still running 33's stock on 15x8in AE589s....I have run BFGs, Swampers, and now have procomps....you will rub the frame at full lock on stock wheels, but you get use to it and I lived with it for a few years before I got rims...If you need pics of where to trim I will throw up some pics of my truck, just crank up your t-bars a little and go wheel...

Message: Here are my old photo's from when I ran 33's o n stock.
I had the Hanson Bumper so it made clearance in front good but you can trim some of the lower facia to allow them to clear and it is not really noticable if you do it right. In the other photo it shows where I trimmed the rear for clearance. You really dont flex to much in front in IFS so it is not to bad. I wheeled it all the time and rubbed only when I bounced around to much or going to fast.
Do not change the back spacing or you will make the rubbing worse and tougher to correct.
If you are gonna wheel it you will rub some but know your limits and you can go far.
