Subject: prerunner/safari bars???? IP: Logged
Message: I want to get some sort of front protection system for my 02 sport 4.7 L v8. I dont kno whether to choose the safari bar from westin (http://www.accessconnect.com/westinsafari.htm) or a prerunner bar by fabtech (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=fabtech&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp) the only thing thats holding me back from buying the fabtech bar is im not sure if it mounts to the bumper or frame. please give me any information you can on this.

Message: I have the safari bar with KC daylighters. It isn't really protection, just a lightbar for looks. It is mounted with brackets that are sandwiched between the front bumper brackets and the frame. I like mine a lot but its not made to protect the front. I wouldn't push anything with it. Good luck.

Message: I got an ORI prerunner bar on my dak, click on skynyrd to see some pics. It works great, mows over lots of tall grass and doesn't kill clearance or approach angles at all. Highly Recommended! BTW, those are PIAA series 40's, had the bar and lights shipped to my house for a little over 300 bucks, which included a large shipping fee for the bar. Still much cheaper than those cattleherders they sell at advance auto.
How deep can that pond possibly be?
