 Subject: Gen I/II Flared bedsides

Who has pushed out their bedsides on their Gen I or II? I know this can be done using a saws-all, bottle jack and a few other tools I probably have(wire fed welder to weld in new sheet metal, etc.). I know I need to cut through the metal in the fenderwell and push the side out using a peice of wood and a small jack, but was wondering:
Who has already done it?
How far out did you go?
Any noticable distortion of exterior sheet metal?
Was it a 6.5' bed?
Tailgate still functioned properly?
Any lesson's learned that you could share (no need to re-invent a process)?
