Subject: Dak Pic and Question! IP: Logged
Message: Here is a pic of my Dak from last summer. I am considering getting fender flares since it didn't come stock with them. What do you guys think? The tires spit up a lot of crap on to the side of my truck right now. How do you think they would look, and should I go with silver or black if I do get them?
Also here is a link to my old Dakota before I needed more room for my baby.

Message: Nice setup.
Stock flares will still not cover the tires adequately.
if your intention is to get all the tire under a flare, look for aftermarket flares.

Message: The only problem with aftermarket flares is the lack of options. I think Bushwacker makes some, but I think they are really close to stock size.
I had stock flares on my 00' dak and they did a pretty good job.

Message: You may want to think about getting front mud flaps, this will help a little. I have a trouble with rocks and mud getting shot out at my nerf bars and sides. I plan on getting these soon, before I go down to baja. Any flare should help some, but by looking at your pics the tires are going to stick out anyways, causing some mud and debris to get kicked up. Mine is silver, with silver flares and I like the look. Very clean. In my opinion you should get some flares so you don't ruin your paint as much, a rock to the side of your truck is never a good thing.
Question: Do your 33 swampers rub with the 3" body lift??

Message: Almost forgot. My nerf bars also help deflect alot of cr#p and door bangs.

Message: DACOADA- I have the same tires as you, but on stock 16x8 wheels. My stock flares are just wide enough to cover the entire width of the tire. I still fling stuff all over the side of my truck. I would look for the bushwacker one's or see if there is something else available.
cali- I would think that the only rubbing that DACOADA will get is when he turns due to the offset of his wheels. Again I have the stock 16x8's wheels with my T-bars cranked, a 3" BL and the same 33" tires as DACOADA. I don't rub at all, even at full turn.

Message: calikota- I do get some rubbing with the tires and lift. Only when my wheel is turned and I my suspension flexes. I trimmed the front a little, but it still rubs on the rear of the wheel well a little. Nothing worth worrying about though.
