Message: I was told by a mechanic that installing
body lifts makes the truck ride like crap
has anyone found this to be true that has installed a body lift?

Message: Just did my lift yesterday. Only drove it a short way. Doing the final bumper adjustments, etc today and will then give it a few good test runs. The short drive I did yesterday showed no differance at all in the ride other than making you feel like you were towering over everyone on the road. A body lift should not change the ride or handling of the truck as you are not altering anything on the suspension. I have been in trucks with susp lifts and the body lift doesnt affect the center of gravity nearly as bad bacause the engine and frame all stay in the same spot keeping most of your weight the same as stock. The weight of the body does affect it a little but not as much as a susp lift. Will know more by this afternoon.

Message: Hawkeye , how did you extend the transfer
case shifter?,did you weld the piece they
supply on to it? if yes how hard was it?
B/C I can't weld,and even if I could I
don't have any equipment.
I only got the PA 2" lift ,think the shifter
would be ok if I didn't extend it.
really could use some advice, thanks

Message: I did extend the lever. Had a neighbor weld it for me. After reinstalling it, it looks like I may not have had too. Play with yours a little, it is adjustable. You may be able to get it to work without having to add the extension. The lift was very easy. As I said in my other post, Just read the instructions very carefully and do it exactly step by step as they say and you will have no problems. I love mine!! Yes 3.92 gears are fine. I have 3.55's and had 32's up until yesterday. Now I have the 33's. Mine is fine. I plan to go to 3.90's (same as 3.92's) as my next big mod. With the 32x11.50's on 15x8's and the 2 inch lift you will look sweet and do much better off road. If you have any trouble please feel free to email me. Go ahead and email me anyway if you want and I will give you my phone number.

Message: Cool, the susp lift shouldnt make any diff as far as the lever. The frame and everything is still in the same position in relation to the body. See if you can adjust it to fit and if not then just get someone to weld in the extension. The kit comes with a 3 inch (or in your case I would assume a 2 inch) extension. I only welded in 1 inch and like I said, dont think I even needed that now. It works so thats all that matters. With 5 inches of lift you might want to start thinking about some 33's or maybe even 35's for that bad boy! Hint Hint!! :-)

Message: You know, of all the trucks I have seen, and thats a lot, lifted Daks just look so freakin tough! My 32's are only about 8 months old too. I just left them on the factory rims to slap on if we go on a long road trip or something. Going to get use out of them all!!

in Winter on the stock rims , thanks for the
idea Hawk, only the best cause lifes too short!
