ok help me out here, doing some reading to try to understand why... when i make a tight u-turn and punch the gas to the floor, my engine goes crazy and i go nowhere. i did replace the diff fluid a few months ago because of a leaking rear cover seal (i had this problem since i got the truck, many months ago). in doing this i found out through the dealership that i have a limited-slip rear differential. is all this happening because the diff is taking away all that power that it gave to the outer wheel in the turn, is that even how it works? is a locker going to help me out here, after all i do some 4-wheeling. help me out guys i really need to know how all this stuff works, or rather why it works. just trying to learn something new

ur probly wearin out the clutches in the rear by doing that. a posi or limited slip just has a bunch of clutches sqeezed together tightly. they're tight enough so both wheels get equal power but loose enough to break free around turns. a locker is kinda wut it sounds like. but u can buy automatic lockers that will "break free" around turns. i hear that they are noisy and i would rather have a manual or air locker. that way it would act as an open rear until you want it to, then its fully locked and wont break free.
