Subject: stock capabilities IP: Logged
Message: I just got a 2003 v8 dakota thats 4x4 and put on bf goodrich all terrains, and i have been really hesitant about taking it off road. Other than the tires the truck is stock and was wondering if anyone could tell how capable the truck is when it comes to off-roading. any help would be great thanks.

Message: Depends on what kind of off road you're gonna do. Mine has basically stock tire size on it, 245/75/16 and does well enough, obviously the ground clearance isn't there from someone that has 33's or 35's. Just don't do anything too stupid and make sure you scout everything out before you try it. I spent most the summer working in the mud in the backcountry of Montana and didn't get stuck once, but didn't do anything stupid either ;) so it's up to you, but I would say stock capabilities are decent at worst, ground clearance seems pretty good too.

Message: I wheel a basicly stock dakota with 285/75/16R Bridgestone dueler AT had to chop a little on the bumper but well worth the clearence. A dakota will hold its own with other stock rigs.
