Great news guys, i just purchased the tuff country lift from jcwhitney for 1183 today. Its going on top of my 3 inch body. Anyone have any problems or opinions on this kit? i've been reading about it on this site for the past two years. I'll get some pics posted of my truck soon. Im going to keep the 33's instead of jumping up to 35's for now. Hopefully the tires dont look too small for all this lift. If anyone has a triple double black rollbar that will fit my 97 they wanna sell or some 15x10 eagle alloys. let me know

Let me know what you think of this after you get it on..and what installation was like. Are you going to install it yourself? Also was the $1183 without shocks..and before shipping. Or was that a total..seems pretty cheap.

i had a jcwhitney catalog sent to me. in the cataolog there is a discount of 15% and the kit is even cheaper in the catalog. its 1247.00 in the truck catalog. there was a $28 shipping fee and a $50 freight fee. It should be at my door before christmas. i am going to the shop tonight to work out a deal with them on installation. i will post some before and after pics soon and keep ya posted. This total was without shocks. i was unable to find ranchos to fit with this lift. and the TC shocks are only 30 a piece.

The TC shocks are fine, but drill and tap the lower contol arms to take a 1/2" bolt and then use a grade 8. Actually, that's a good thing to do even on stock trucks. Also have them cut off the lower bump stops and weld on a piece that utilizes the upper control arm similar to stock. This will buy at least a couple of inches of ground clearance and keep you from damaging the lower drop brackets on rocks (don't ask how I know).
