Time to take off the 33x12.5 super swamps off. What should i go with? I am looking for a good off road/mud tire with good traction. But i also want a tire that looks agressive and last a lot longer then the swamps.

I was looking at bfg all terrians, but do they pull good? My buddys got some bfg mud teraines, so i cant get those.

any suggestions would be great!

I've been researching tires past couple days and while I'm not looking for anything as extreme, you might want to check these out: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Firestone&tireModel=Destination+M%2FT&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=325R5DESTMTOWL&fromCompare1=yes

Make sure to read all the reviews, hope this helps.

I have the Pro Comp Muds, they look agressive and perform pretty good. I have no complaints. Not to mention that they are fairly priced. You can see them if you go to the link.

I just got a set of 33x12.5 destination mt's from dayton(a.k.a.firestone)and the are great so far. Went wheelin about 2hours after puting them on. They work great in mud ,wet hillclimb's,and rock so far. They seem to be very good on the road as well and have a nice sidewall tread as well. Can't wait to try them in some snow!!!

Do a search on pro comp tires. they seem to have problems with tread separation according to alot of people. Why not just get same as your buddy and turn the lettering the oposite way.

I remember reading on one of the off road magazines, where they compared all major mtr type tires. They had like six sets, BFG Mt's, Goodyear MTR's, Pro Comp X-Terrains, and some of the super swampers. They compared price, look and performance in mud only. GY MTR'S sucked in the mud and so did the Pro Comp X-Terrains. Too bad they didn't test the Pro Comp MT's. Anyways, the BFG's were up there in performance. I almost got them, but I didn't care for their look or the price too much. The X-Terrains and GY MTR's are more of a rock crawler type.

I am also looking at trying to make this truck more mud dependable. I got 3.92's ls, should i get some lockers put on?

Or should i go with some 4:10's and lockers. A point in the right directions would be great

I have 33x12.5's on my 1998 Wrangler They have been on there for 4 years and are just now coming up for replacement. (granted everyone uses tires at a different rate) but they usualy last a long time. Great traction never got stuck with them. Road noise isnt too bad either.

I actually like the Pro Comps alot. I love the way they look and I think that their performance is awesome. I've used them in sand and mud, and they worked great. I had to air down to 15 psi for the sand, but once I did nothing was holding me back. My friend had a Jeep Wrangler and he had a locker and Good Year MTR's (32x11.50). I have to say that my truck made it up sand hills easier than his, and I didn't have the 4.56 gears or locker at that time. I would definately go with a locker since yours is a 2wd and if you go with anything bigger than 33" tires, I would recommend 4.56 gears instead of the 4.10's. I noticed a big power loss going from 33" to 35" tires and I also had the 3.92 geears with LSD.

Thats the link to all the tread separation stuff I found on pro-comp. I am going to say I have never owned a pro-comp tire nor do I know anything beyond what I have read about them. I have owned BFG's and I stand behind them 100% great tires. 4wheelparts.com is doing a 60 dollar instant rebate on 4 bfg's if you are interested

I had a set of 305/70/16 pro comp mud terrain's installed on my father's 3/4 ton dodge last year. The truck has a cumming's diesel and is a ex cab long bed, it also has a rack with tool box's on it. We put a ton of mile's on them and tow a heavy trailer every day for work. They have awsome traction and great street manner's. Never had anything resembling tread seperation. Never got stuck with them either. If I could afford them I would get the parnelli jones tire's, I have heard nothing bad about them and they look awsome. A friend of mine race's with them on his bronco and love's them. But that's just my 2cent's though.
