Subject: Do you think this will work? IP: Logged
Message: I am looking to get bigger tires on my 15's. Not a good way to start off I know. Anyhow I was told that my rim width is 15x7 or probably 15x9 on my 99 dakota 4x2. Anyhow I am curious if a 33x1035R15 bf goodrich mud terrain will fit. I went on the BF goodrich website, and they are saying that the rim width must be 7.0-9.0 inches. Do you think I will have a problem with fender clearance, on my 99 stock dakota?
Thanks

Message: You can fit a 10.5 wide tire on a 7 inch wheel. But you cannot fit a 33" tire on a stock 2wd dakota. My 2wd dak was lifted 6" front/ 8" rear and i still had the 33 inch tires rub but mine were 12.5 wide. Better get a lift ;)

Message: I was told on another thread that the 99's with split 5 spoke wheels with lugs showing were 15x9 and the solid 5 spoke with caps over lugs were 15x7. thanks for the info.

Message: dodge doesnt make 15x9's. you woulds have to do a 3" rancho suspension lift and a 3" body lift to fit those tires without doing some major cutting.

Message: Durango, the 3" Rancho and 3" body lift for a 4X4 guy would work great, and it's a proven combo, but Bykerdude said he has a 2wd.
Bykerdude, if you do a search for your tire clearance question, it's one that's frequently asked. I'm sure you'd find a lot of good info from the last couple years if you do a search.
Of course, my $2/100, you can fit just about any tire if you know how to use a grinder and a dremel tool,... but prob not the answer you're looking for.
