How much would it cost to perform a staright axle conversion on a dak 4x4 V8 auto?

Second question, How difficult would it be to perform a tranny swap from auto to manual...or how much would it cost? .........any informations will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

it all depends on how much you want to spend, you can spend anywhere from $200 for one that might not make it out of the driveway to $10,000 fully linked, caged, trussed, front and rear. life lesson: you get back what you put into it, time and $$.
the tranny is a heck of allot easier, but not necessarily cheaper. try trading your tranny to keep the cost down. if you can get the whole setup traded, itll be real cheap.

well, I've got 11,000 to purchase a dakota and purchase all the aftermarket stuff (lift,tires etc...)

That's probably enough to buy a 4x4 dak but as for sticking an axle up front and doing a tranny swap, it's not enough. What year are u lookin into?

I was thinkin like a 97-99....I don't even know if i want to straight axle it or not....i was just seeing if anyone had prices on it....but it must have a manual tranny! With a v8
