Message: how many of you go offroading with an open rear??? anyone used the parking brake trick to get moving?? ive heard about this trick but i dont kno how good it works. if you dont know about this trick, in theory if you put your parking brake down enough to where both wheels have equal resistance, both tires will spin. just wanted to know how good this works and yea i kno its not a replacement for an LSD or locker but im cheap lol

Message: It works, but not as well as LSD, and it takes practice. It's one of those tricks you use when you unintentionally get in over your head.
If you're going to be offroading on a regular basis, spring for the LSD. It's really not that expensive.

Message: Using the brake and LSD is the same to me. I had a LSD and i also used the parking brake on my jeep (before i got lockers put it in) and there was no difference, only one tire would spin. Of course i don't like that and installed powertrax lockers in both dak/jeep and all's good :)
