Is it required to tack weld the brackets at the end of the manual or can you go with out them?

Wouldn't recommend it if you put anything heavy in the bed... Normally the bed sits oin the frame rail, but when lifted it has no support at that point right around the rear wheels. These spacers at that extra support so your bed doesn't crumple when you fill it up with dirt or rocks.
