Subject: Straight Axle, Which One? IP: Logged
Message: Aight I have about 6 months before the warranty runs out on my 2001 Dakota. I am making plans to do the SAS whenever it runs out. My question is, can I use axles from a 79' CJ Jeep, or will they be too short? I know everyone else has used the dana's from the late 70's ford trucks, but this CJ is available right up the road, and I can have it for about 100$. let me know. thanks!

Message: Too weak. Find an old wagoneer with Dual Dana 44s or an early Gronco or Ford pickup with D44/ 9". Those are a better width and have the strength you'll need to run up to a 38" tire.
