Message: Do any of you guys know anything about a spicer 44 std locker? I have a friend that said he'd give me his for free, but I don't know anything about it. I have a 2000 2WD 4cyl std dakota. Will it fit? Its only the locker (no gears). Please let me know anything you guys know about it. Thanks.

Message: I talked to the guy a bit more today, and he said the locker was going into a jeep wagoneer when he had it, but it never did. He doesnt know anything about the locker. Not the size or anything. I just wanted to ask one more simple question. Ive been reading a lot about gears on past posts, but everyone says turning can be tricky, but noone says why. What makes it tricky? Does the truck not want to turn, or does it just want to fishtail? I got plenty of drifting practice in my first car (which had a posi rear end) and I only ever spun it out once on purpose. Its not that hard to control a fishtail. But is that the problem? also, I thought a locker was always engaged, but apparently not. Sorry to have to bring this up again, but I just can't get a straight answer to anything Im looking for.
