Message: Sure, it's possible. The easiest way is to find a donor vehicle. A 2000 4x4 that's been rolled or had the rear end squished. Then just pull all the parts from one truck and put them on the other.
But why bother? It's a lot of expense, a hell of a lot of work, may not be emissions legal in your area, and will lower resale value.
Your best bet is to just tade your truck in for what you want.

Message: Yeah, what he said.
If you're asking it it's possible I'm going to guess you're probably going to be paying someone to do it for you. It's pretty expensive to do just from the standpoint of buying parts, let alone having to pay someone for the labor to do it.
With a good set of tires and a locker a 2wd can be a fairly capable off-road machine if that's what you're looking for. It will never be as good as a 4x4, but you'll be able to follow most 4wds as long as they aren't rockcrawling or in deep deep mud.
