Message: Last weekend on Crank & Chrome (I think that's the name of the show...on TNN...could have been another one of those weekend automotive TNN shows) they did a body lift on a new Chevy Silverado. Looked to be do-able by someone with average mechanical skills, a decent set of tools and a good jack or two. They did bring up a lot of things that I had never considered like potential wiring problems (wires too short), relocating the parking brake cable, disconnecting the steering shaft to install an extension, lengthening the fuel filler neck...and so on. Lots of little pain in the behind details. The lifting of the body looked simple in comparison. You could probably order the video from the TNN website if you want to get a better idea of whether or not you want to try it yourself.
