i'd like to lower the rear of my 93 4x4 2-3 inches to level out my ride. any suggestions.

Instead why don't you try raising the front? You can do this very easily by cranking the two bolts at the rear of your torsion bars. when you do this make sure you level your truck side to side as well as front to back. this should take less than 10 minutes with nothing more than a socket and a breaker bar. After each adjustment make sure to bounce the front end up and down to get the torsion bars to settle. And make sure to get a front end alignment done as soon as you are done. I did this to my truck three years ago and it's still level and I have had no problems. You should never use your torsion bars to lift your front end more than just to level your truck as you can put to much stress on your IFS.

I forgot to add, Turn the torsion bar bolts clockwise to raise and counter clockwise to lower.
And again I stress, Get an alignment done. A lot of people that have trouble after they cranked thier torsion bars is because they either did not get an alignment done or they cranked them to far, such as trying to put lifting blocks in the rear and then cranking the torsion bars to level

thanks for the info mac10, but it is possible to lower the rear instead if raising the front... any hangers or shackles for a 4x4?

lowering a 4x4 is concidered a sin in most societys. if you are trying to lower your truck you are in the wrong forum. i dont mean to be rude, but lowering is street performance modification not offroad. try the custom style board.
