hey guys, i know this i not a real smart idea but i am going to be able to get a free winch out of the deal, and i need to know how good it will hold up.

i was talking to my cousin the other day about getting a brush guard for my truck and he said that if i got one for a winch he had a warn winch he would GIVE me. and i was wondering how good do you think that a transformer would hold up sice i would have to raise it for the body lift i have. i wouldn't be used much, but when it does get used, i don't wan't it to pull off my new brush guard.

I wouldn't do it unless you have someone that can properly brace and reinforce it. Those winchmount brush gaurds are made to stay in line with the frame. If you raise it for your body lift then it will be weak unless you brace it somehow to the frame. It will bend and would be really unsafe if you use it out of the box and just use brackets to raise it up. I would get a front receiver and buy a receiver mount for the winch.
