Subject: Lifts and Disconnects IP: Logged
Message: Hi everyone,
Just want to start out saying thanks to everyone for all the great info on this site.
I have a '98 Dak SLT Club Cab 5.2L w/ K&N FIPK,Power Raid Throttle Body Spacer, 180 Jet Temp, 31x11.5 BFG AT's.I am looking at getting the 5.5 Tuff Country lift this year with some tax money. I have been told I should also get "quick" disconnects for my front sway bar in order to allow full articulation while off-roading. Is there anyone else out there that has done this, or have suggestions?
Also, and pros and cons you guys have heard about the TC 5.5" lift I would appreciate hearing. I don't know a lot about lifts as this will be my first one so I am hoping there will be no drive shaft issues with the TC lift.
Also, where can I get soem Skid plates for my Dak?

Message: There is no way to put disconects on the dakota front sway bar. The way you could would make them to brittle. Just pull of the sway bar. It is 8 bolts and takes about 10-15min to do. I leave mine off all the time, but it is so simple to do you could just pll it off when you get to the trail.

Message: How is the handling with the sway bar off all the time. I do most of my driving on the highway to and from work but then on the weekends I play as much as possible. So i don't want to do anything that may jeapordize my daily driver.

Message: My truck handles fine with no sway bar. I puch it hard on turns also. I am running 33's with a 2in lift. If you hit a bad bump in the freeway it moves more than it did but not to the point where a I would reconect the sway bar.
