Message: Does anyone know how well 305/70/16 Tires will fit on the stock 16" rims and if they will rub on the frame due to backspacing? I am putting a 2" Performance Accessories Body Lift on my 99 x-cab 4x4 in a couple weeks. I'm not worried about the tires rubbing on the body because I have already cranked the torsion bars to level the truck out. I also plan on trimming the front bumper if needed and the back of the front wheelwell. I will be replacing the bumper later anyhow. Any help you guys can give will be appreciated.

Message: You need a 3-inch body lift to be on the safe side. Mine's an '01 with 3-inch body and the T-bars cranked almost an inch. I have 305-70-16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials on the factory 16x8's. I've only rubbed twice on the innermost plastic in the wheelwell. Both times I had the steering MAXED out to one side while hitting a foot deep mud hole. If you use your stock wheels with 305-70's you'll be much happier. Your tires will sit about perfect. Put on the 3-inch, because with 33's on the trail you'll hate a 2-inch body lift.
