I cut large holes in the factory airbox on my wifes 5.2 (same as on my 4.7) to let the drop in K&N flow better. Now, when you turn on the AC, there is an annoying whistle coming from the TB under the air hat. Could this be from it being under a little more load and drawing more air, hitting something in the air hat or TB causing it to whistle? It only does it when the AC is turned on. Not really a problem, just more annoying than anything. Any ideas??

Well now that I said that it is doing it with the AC off as well. Goes and comes on its own it seems.

I get a mild hiss/whistle or whatever you want to call it at very light throttle, noticeable mostly when going from a steady cruise to accelerating. Didn't have it (or at least I didn't notice it) before I installed my airaid. I'm not sure what causes it, but I haven't noticed anything bad happening so I'm not worried about it.
By the way Hawkeye, I've been out of town for the past two weeks. Any news on a Florida meet? I would have called when passing through Jacksonville but I was in a hurry both times.

Dan I think that there is something inside the stock airhat that the increased airflow is hitting and causing the whistle. Havent noticed any problems just a little annoying.
I think we have decided on Orlando for a meet. Now Im trying to find some locations and then a date. Got about 5 guys here in town that I may have a mini-meet with. If you feel like coming up for a weekend getaway let me know. Not sure when yet. If you get a chance, email me with details on how your trip went.

hawkeye, when i put my throttle body spacer on, it
made quite a whistle. my friend put one on a full size
ram with a V8, and it whistled even louder. guys at 4
wheel parts said this is normal due to more air flow. i
use it with a airraid intake.

I got a 360Airintake, Ported TB, HI-Po intake and cam and I get a whistle at very high RPMs...kinda sounds like a turbine coming alive. I think its just due to A LOT of air flying down the beasts throat...maybe whistling off the TB blade or the TPS's port, or IAT's nose sticking into the airstream. Anyways, not to worried about it.
