Subject: off road lights IP: Logged
Message: I just finished installing a safari light bar on my Dak. I want to finish it off with a couple of lights. I have been looking at KC, Hella, Pilot, etc. I am just not sure I need the 100-130 watt long range lights. I think in my state anything over 55 watts, can only be used strictly for off road. I am looking more for shoulder lighting, as I drive alot of rural mountain highways and improved and unimproved dirt roads to get to trailheads and lakes. I have had several close calls with deer. Just cruising, and bam!, deer bounding right in front of you! Any opinions or suggestions?

Message: Kc 5x7 all season lights . simple as that . Kc's are the best and brightest lights you can get . the all season lights come with 3 different lenzes. 1. driving light lenz (bright as hell) 2.clear fog lens(lights up the side of the road great!) 3. Amber fog lenz (does an awsome job in fog) so theres 3 reasons to get those lights , 23 year warrenty, the lenz are simple to change out. and there 55 watts . there bright!!

Message: Thanks for the replies. I hadn't checked Warn, always thought they just made winches. Those dual beam lights with stone guards and remote switch look mighty tempting! Thanks again.

Message: I found a set of Hella 550's to mount on the bumper of my truck and they work great> they're only 55 watts apiece, but you could put in a higher-power bulb and stronger fuse. As is, they turn night into daylight. A real bitch to install, though. The upside? They only cost me $40 at Kragen. If you have the money, though, KC's are worth it, as are PIAAs. The PIAA pencil-beam lamps are about as bright as you can buy.
