Hey all, you might have seen my previous post for IL Dakota owners. So Far I have had replies from 3 dakota owners in the southern IL area. This should also include the states that are close. I am trying to put together an easy going off roading event. Somthing to get off of the pavement, and do some BSing about the finer things of life.... You know women, beer and most of all 4x4 Trucks... Looks like the best place right now will be the Land Between the Lakes. I have gotten some literature from KY for it, but of course that does not tell much, so I will be delving more into it. If there are any more out there that would be interested then shoot me an email. I am Dan, I am an activated National Guard soldier that works as Scott Air Force Base as well as keeps a place in Carbondale, IL. With some lead time I can easily get some leave to have soem fun with others that do not like to ruin good tires on asphalt. So, if interested shoot me an email and we will get this "group" going.

Hey Dan,
I have been trying to get my 87 dak 4x4 down to Turkey Bay for about a year my friend runs his Jeep down there on a regular basis. Its some of the best wheeling you can find but heres the kicker. Daks will have a problem going down some of the trails since they are wide. But I could round up some guys mabye over the summer months to go down there it would be good times. I live in southern Indiana right outside Evansville.

sounds cool, i'd try to make it. i'm from north central ill. and travel to southern ill. alot to hunt and fish, the most time my truck gets off road. keep up with some info. what month/s are you thinking about?

metalgreen, where exactly is turkey bay? You said that some of the tires will be too narrow for the daks, are there any that won't be, do not think most will be too enthusiastic in scratching up their ride.
6lzird, not sure exactly when, just trying to get a feel on where we can actually go. if anybody has any time frames they would prefer, send em up.

Hey man, I live in Carmi, Il. A big group of my friends are goin down to Turkey Bay on spring break, which Starts April 9. I've only got a two wheel drive, but I aint afraid to get pulled out of the muck.

Hey guys,
Until I saw the turkey bay pics, i didnt realize that i got to tag along on a jeep ralley there. You are all right, great place,. When I was there (bout 5 yrs ago or so) they enough trailes to let you decide what kind of trail difficulty you want to try to tame, should be great. I have a school to go to for the military in late april, but am looking to take leave in mid may. Of course it will be on a weekend, probably fri, sat, sun. Anybody be able to make it in May?

Hey all,
Hope there are still some interested out there for some off roading. Ordered my bumper toady, will hopefully have it ready, on the truck with winch before we go. I tried to put in leave for the last two weeks of May, but that didn't work, so I reserved the 1st two weeks of May and the first two weeks of June. New times, tell me if there are any interested. I also have a friend that works here on nights with a 2003 Dak and he is interested also. So give me your thoughts and comments. Also, if anybody wants to go somewhere else tell us. Not dead set on Kentucky (Turkey bay), but it sure looks like it would be fun.
