 Subject: HELP!! 4 low wont engage

i own a 95 ext cab sport4x4 with the 5.2 auto and 4 high engages fine but four low wont stay in ill put itin nuetral and put it in 4 low the lightcomes on till i put it in drive or rev then the light goes out the stick moves a bit and i think it jumps into nuetral.when i go to take it out of 4 low it grinds a bit and i have to fight it i just greased all the linkage so what could be causeing this?

I have a 93 dak and mine was doing the same thing, I had a 231 D transfer case and the forks inside were messed up. you might want to check to see if you might have the same issue
