installed a 4.10 rear and a powertrax lockright in the 87 dakota last weekend. the power is great having had 33's and the 2.70 rear. i dont even notice the locker on normal driving. but it still locks tight when u stomp on the gas coming out of a turn. i've heard complaints of noise from the locker. i dont hear any, no clicking or clunking. overall id rate this mod a 10.

just be sure you change the diff fluid as they suggest, my lockright worked great as you described when I first got it. noe it is a bit ruffer and clunks I beleive its becuase I let the first fluid change go about 1000miles.
checnge it religiously and I don't think you will have this problem.
