Subject: 2000 4x4 lift questions IP: Logged
Message: I want to know if anyone can give me some info on a lift kit? I have searched the net and I can't seem to find what I am looking for. I am looking lift that will allow me to install 33in tires. I was told that 32 11.50's will fit without any problems but I am looking to go up a little on the tire size. I have only had the truck for 3 months and I am not sure what is out there. Any help would be great. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from someone soon.
If you would like to e-mail me my add is Robertk9550@yahoo.com
Once again, thanks!

Message: rancho has a 3" system out,(for 4x4) you should be able to fit 33's no prob but you will have to trimm up your front fender. it will be a tight fit, but it will work

Message: 3 inch suspension lift will only give you a inch and a half of extra tire clearance.
You would be better off finding a 6.5inch suspension lift. which would be about the same as a 3inch body lift. giving you a better suspension than stock, and also allowing you to fit 33's up under your truck, and possibly 35's but you couldnt take it off road without jamming your tire up into the fender well.

Message: Performance Accessories 3 inch body lift is part # 60043 will allow 33's. What works the best is a 285-75-16. Most of these run about 33 inches tall and about 11.5 inches wide. The Rancho lift is a quality lift that will allow 32's easy but 285-75-16's will fit also. Your 2000 Dak has a "revised" front suspension over 1999 on down. Anything over a 3 inch suspension and 1 inch torsion bar crank will grenade, tear apart, destroy, obliterate, undermine, kill, and do very unhappy things to your front suspension. The 2000-ups have rack-and-pinion power assist that for various reasons do not lend themselves very well to much deviation from stock geometry. Unfortunately, if you want to drive your 2000 and not just look at it then 3inch body lift combined with Rancho 3 inch suspension and a 1 inch torsion bar crank is your safe maximum lift. 35's work well with this combo, but then you'll need to re-gear. Also, something else to think about other than the extra diameter of larger tires is the added weight of them. So if your poor like me and want the extra height and better ground clearance go with the Performance Accessories 3 inch body lift, and 285-75-16's. If you want to do more serious off- roading, go with the Rancho lift and 285-75-16's or 33-10.50-15's or 32-11.50-15's. If you don't care to spend a lot money go with both. If you just do either, then crank your Torsion bars a half inch but not over an inch and get an alignment before you run your new tires very long, but wait until you put on your tires that you are going to run on your truck and then get your alignment A.S.A.P. These are just my opinions. Check out Forexfour's website. He's the off-roader with the Rancho lift on his Dak. Good luck.

Message: Thanks for all of the great info. I think that I am going to get the 3 in body lift. I found one on the net from the company that you guys mentioned above for $197.00 I would love to have 35's but I think that I will go with the 33's. One more quick question. What is the backspacing on the stock 15x8 in rims. You guys are great and I thank you all for the help. I think that i am going to become a member so I can keep getting the help.
