Subject: Need Ball Joints? IP: Logged
Message: I currently need to replace the ball joints on my truck, much like many of you who are reading this. After a little searching, a buddy of mine was able to get me a deal on some. I asked him if he could get me the same deal if I bought a bunch of them and he said he could. They are made by a company called Falcon and are imports from Taiwan. These ball joints are greaseable. I have yet to install mine on my truck because it has been in the teens for a daily temperature around here, so I can't give you any input on them. If you would like to see a picture of this ball joint click here for photo. If you would like to see Falcons website click here for Falcon. I am going to be selling them for $55 PER PAIR including shipping. I will start out with about 10 Pairs provided I get enough response. If you are interested, you can click here to e-mail me. Drive safe.

Message: I am just questioning the quality of these Falcon Balljoints..ive never heard of them? And they are made in taiwan...
Moog's on the other hand are Made in the USA, have a well-known, reputable name behind them and are only $43/each upper and $52/each lower from Rockauto.com and their shipping is reasonable. Many Dakota/Durango owners have used these Moog's and are happy with them. They are greaseable too!
Im not saying the Falcons are bad, I dont know about them, Im just giving another option so everyone can make an informed decision on what they personally want to do.

Message: I won't argue with any of your points. I'm just always looking for a deal and I'll try anything once. I figure since the Falcons are greaseable they have to be better than what came on the truck.
My original post was a bit vague on the application. I was writing about uppers for the III Gen. Dakota & Durango. I can get them without placing a quantity order but they will be $10 more per pair.

Message: I have a 2001 Dak and the upper joints are riveted on. What is the best way to remove the rivets and can I use strong bolts in place of the rivet on the new joints?

Message: If you have a air hammer with a chisel they come off real easy,or a grinder and a drill and yes the replacements come with high grade bolts.

Message: I just got 265 75 tires on my 2001 dakota 4x4 and the tire shop never told me that they were to big, they did rub a little, however they also did an alignment and later that day i was driving in the mountains and my ball joint popped out and my wheel broke off, it had to have been something that they did. the ball joints were dry. i was driving slow too

Message: Anyone that has read and put consideration into this post, I now apologize. I didn't do my homework. I put that I could get upper AND lower ball joints for all GenIII Dakotas at a decent price. After reading several posts that stated people were using 98'-99' uppers on 2000-up Dakotas, I assumed that the lowers from 98'-99' would also work on 2000-up Dakotas. This is not true. Unfortunately, I have wasted Arts' time in finding this out. Again, sorry Art.
The Falcon ball joints that I have access to are not available for 2000-up Dakotas, upper or lower. So, my original post would seem to apply only to 98'-99' Dakotas.
Sorry for any mix-ups.
