Message: I had a pair of 265/75/16 BFG AT's on my 2005 Quigley 4X4 van and they had lousy traction offroad. Always felt like they would get stuck in the mud. Very quiet on the road though and good in snow. 50000 mile tire on a 5500# vehicle. Switched to 285/75/16 Maxxis Mudders at a 40% discount compared to BFG's and cannot be happier. They go everywhere and I pulled a stuck BFG AT Jeep up a 33% gravel incline the other day with no wheelspin. Loud on the highway, good in snow, and at 10000 miles tire wear looks good. I highly recommend this tire. Get them before the price goes up.

Message: i'm going back and forth between the maxxis mudders and bfg AT. they are within $2 of each other pricewise. the bfg seem more prctical for my uses, but the few times when I do go offroad I don't want to lose out. I'm thinking the maxxis tires.

Message: if you live in a place with snow and ice DO NOT get the mudders all mudders suck in those conditions the huge pads/lugs/treads, whatever you wanna call them suck in those conditions. they slide around and dont grab the road you be in the ditch and pulled out by a guy with all terrains. you need a tread pattern that is more broken up and has sipes in it.

Message: super bee, thanks for the back up. but im tellin yall if you drive in slick sh!t....the first time your in a ditch youll sell those tires and buy AT's. MUD terrains...are designed for the MUD not the road... its your risk you take it or not its ur choice but dont say i didnt tell you so when next winter comes.
