Message: That's a bad thing. First off, use synthetic oil so oil starvation won't cause as much damage (in theory).
Second, you need a better oil pan. All your oil is shifting fore ward and away from the pick up. You need a pan that has baffles to prevent that. I doubt you'll find one ready made if you have the 4.7. If you have the 5.9 or 5.2, you might find a road race pan that will work well.
Lastly, get the largest oil accumulator you can find. At leasty one quart, and preferably two.

Message: dAkAtA you not alone. Some friends and I were on a main highway. They decided to stomp theres taking off, so I did too. All of a sudden I saw the "check guages" light come on. No oil pressure. I back out, pulled over and killed it. After it sat alittle while I started it back up and it was ok. Kinda scary though. I haven't lived that night down with my chevy buddies, but I can still out run them on top end.

Message: It seems like everyone has problems with these electronic oil pressure senders. I suggest a mechanical guage that you plum into the oil system. They are much more accurate and don't rely on a computer sensor. My 94 Dakota with a 318 shows very little oil pressure on the electronic guage, but checks out fine with a mechanical guage.
