Message: Here is a pic of my 03 extra cab dakota on 35's. Using the stock wheels and a 3" body lift. Had to trim alot of plastic out of the front fender wells but now all is good! I thought I had more pics of it mudding but only one turned out.
Message: Think those would work with 16x8 inch rims with 4.5 backspacing? And how much cutting did you have to do? I have 33s now with 3 body lift and cranked bar about 1 1/2 inches with add-a-leafs.
Message: I am with illkeepmy33s though. I see maybe 3-4" of travel only in the back before your rear starts to rip into the fender. Removing the flares may help but in front you can see at certain turn points the tire will stuff into the flares again with only about 3-4" of travel even straight on flex is gonna get you at some point. On road OK. As long as it works for you that is Killer bud! A Dakota is still the best lookin truck on the road!
This is my example of stuffing!
Enjoy!
Chris
Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!
Message: 1/4 of an inch is as good as a mile......It's probably just the angle of the picture, they dont hit. Besides that the front is IFS anyway, it's not made to flex. The front does rub somewhat when one tire gets stuffed. But the only place it rubs is on the bumper. Soon as it stops raining I may trim up the bumper some more. Besides a little rubbing doesnt hurt anything.
