Message: I have a 2001 4x4 and the skid plates are plastic. PLASTIC!!! I called around and nobody seems to know where to get them. I'm going to have to fabricate my own after I practically punched a rock right through my trans. oil plate.
Message: The plastic plates are pretty tough. I rolled over a huge rock one day, amde a tremendous racket and you could feel the truck bounce over as I got a little high centered on it. Put a small gouge in the plate, that's all. I'm sure you could adapt them for a 4x4 without too much trouble.
Message: my buddy just bought an '03 dakota and his came with the skid plates, not plastic! it did cost him extra but they work great and have saved him from some expensive damages. He ordered them right from the dodge dealership where he got the truck.
Message: I just got the MOPAR steel plates, they cost me about 280 for all of them...Fuel tank, transfer case, and front suspension plates. THey look really good and should protect me really good.
Message: I have a 99 Dakota Sport 4x4 and I just bought all of the skid plates for my truck and they are STEEL!
Paid about 210 for mine.
I checked with the dealership and the ones that I bought will fit yours just fine. The only difference is that you wont need the transfer case skid plate LOL
I'll go home tonight and look up the part numbers for you.
