Hi there i have a 02 dak with the full-time transfer case, but i have a open rear end. i am looking into getting a posi unit, i can get a new one for 300 cnd but i am just wondering how hard they are to install?? please help

Before you spend to mutch money, check ebay for the factory diff. I bought two yesterday for 75.00 new. Also you can get a lock right locker kit for your truck that anyone can install right in your driveway for around 300. As fer as installing a complete diff it would be wise to take the truck to someone who does them everyday. It is a complicated mess sometimes and there are several spec. tools required to do it right.

The carrier needs to be swapped to install the posi which involves removing the old carrier, swapping the ring gear onto the new one and reinstalling with the clutch packs and resetting up the gear set (probably backlash only). If you've never done it before, get someone who has to help or have someone else do it.
