www.Lockright.com ? (Lockrite)
No carrier change required if you run the 9.25 rear diff. no relashing either. Less than $300.00 U.S.
For the front, find an electric locker. mechanical ones won't work up front, cause they won't allow you to turn.
If you get a mechanical one for the rear, you'll need to learn how to drive it on the street, and not to discourage you, but your wife may not be able to handle the truck afterwards. They are great, but not for those who are easily "surprised" as they will lock while in a corner and cause your truck to want to go straight ahead. You'll need to learn to feather the gas in the corners to avoid the locking up the Diff.
Your truck will take on a whole new attitude, and when you get used to it, trust me, you'll like it.
They're also a little noisy, they tend to make a ratchetting sound and often bang a bit when locking and unlocking. THIS IS NORMAL AND OKAY.
Enjoy your trucks new found attitude, I do...

Message: I know that the no-slip for the D35 front on ours will be streetable if you have the selectable transfer case, if you have the part time then you are screwed unless yall can figure out a switch like all of the Explorer owners have. If you have a 2wd/4hi/4lo you will be fine and should not notice any (maybe some but minimal) ill effects from the locker.

Message: D35 locker won't fit in the front of the 97-99 daks 2000+ is a totally different diff all together. The front on 97-99's is a Dana M35 and it will not accept any locker. Plus it has no Cad disengagement so the front driveshaft is always engaged which if locked would give you some poor handling. Your only option is to put a rear locker in. If you have a LSD from the factory you'll need to get a detroit or an open carrier if you want to run a "lunchbox" locker like the power-trax or ez locker.

Message: gasouthern1/4wDakota: front lockers are available for the front diff on any given vehicle (even the M35), regardless of t-case. You may need to try a different company, but they are out there. I do not recomend using a mechanical locker up front, they are not ever inactive. however an electric or air locker (ARB) is a good and reliable choice.
I have a 9.25" tru-trac in the rear, and I also have a lockrite. I never had to change out the carrier, so I don't know where you are getting your info?

Message: The newer front diff is mae by/for chrysler. It's unique to the dak/durango. The only available parts are gears. No manufacturer is going to make a locker for the front of the Daks because the differential has no Cad disconnect.

Message: One more thing, you don't require a CAD disconnect if the locker is air or electric actuated. when the locker is disengaged, the diff acts like a regular open diff. they have been doing this for alot longer than you are aware of.

Message: Here is how I am understanding it, I know that the Durango/Dak front end is almost exactly as the Explorer front end, to use the same lockers that explorers have you only have to shave a small peice of metal off, this is what was said by a man from "Aussie Lockers". The thing that puzzles me is that when I put my truck in 2wd why wont the front disengage and act similar to normal? I am not trying to say anyone is wrong, I am just curious. The reason that I have explorer references is that I used to have one and am still very active on the X boards, and many of the ones that do some serious off roading have front lockers and they put their trucks in 2wd and they act just like/very close to stock.

Message: No, the guy from aussie has been really giving the Explorer guys the run around. He came to us earlier this year and said that he was really interested in making them since they could be used for a good many vehichles. After that the lies began and he starting chasing his tail more than he was chasing a deadline to get them done even though there was a nice amount of intrest shown on our part and the request of several ranger owners.
