Message: Just a quick question about coating a brush guard. I'm making my own out of some 2" steel tubing, should i pay the money to have it powder coated or coat it in some of that roll on or spray on bed liner. Just asking your opinion on durability and looks. I'm leaning towards the bed liner cause its gonna be cheaper but will it hold up as well as the powder coating. I think the powder coating will look better, though.

Message: The other thing to consider is if you are actually going to use the bumper. If you go off-roading and scrape it you can just put some more bed liner stuff over the mark. If you get it powder coated it will start to rust.

Message: I do plan to use it. I decided to go with the liner for that and other reasons. Now all I need is some more air under my truck. This last weekend I was making trails in the woods behind my house and parked my dak on a tree stump. I was lucky and it stopped on the front skid plate just before the transmission. I was pushing over sapplings and they didnt seem to scratch up the bumper or front end.
