Subject: GEN II Tire Fit IP: Logged
Message: I know that the Gen II with a 3" body lift can't fit a 32x11.5 tire. Has anybody tried a 32x10.5.
If so what brand and are there any other adjustments that a required. Does the wheel off-set matter?
Thanks,
Tate W.

Message: You probably could fit 32x11.50 tires on the stock rims with no rubbing. But if you go to a rim with more negative offset than the stock rims, you may have some rubbing on the fenders full lock. I had 31x1050 tires mounted on 15x8 rims with 3” back spacing on my ’88 Dakota. With a 3” body lift and cranked torsion bars, I rubbed slightly full lock or articulation. Rim width and backspacing does affect clearance. As you decrease the backspacing, the more lateral movement the tire makes when turning. Too much backspacing, you’ll rub on the frame and too little will rub on the fenders.
