Hello I'm new here. I just purchased a 2001 Dakota 2wd with a fabtech 3"lift and some mud tires. Its a 4.7l with a 3.55 lsd. I would like to know what this truck will be capable of as far as off roading and driving in snow. Not looking to go rock crawling or anything, just wondering if I can ride some trails or go on the beach with it, and muscle my way through some snow when winter hits. This is my first truck and am not sure what to expect. Thanks

Man, You'll love that truck, my friend has the exact same thing and has had it since brand new. He doesn;t have the lift though. It's so fast, it handles great and he hasnt had any probs at all with it. Last thursday I whitnessed the most beautifull thing ever...His truck (bone stock exept flowmaster duals) did a three spin donut. The was somuch noise and smoke, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. Then I see two guys in a Built F-150 and a S-10 with a 350 try it, and ill they got was one turn. This just proves that DODGE rules all that is on 4-wheels.

I think you'll be able to do what you want with the truck. I have a 2WD 4 cyl not lifted and it rides the trails I go on nicely. Ive only got it stuck once. Stay away from a little hump of a hill with a steep drop on the far side. Long wheelbases are a killer. Don't know about the snow. I live in AZ. Im guessing it could be hairy with a V8 rear wheel drive in snow. Just get good tires and stay off the gas around corners.
