Message: My 2000 Dakota 4x4 doesn't have any skid plates. What skid plates were available as option? Was there a front plate, a engine oil pan plate, a transmission/transfer case plate and a gas tank plate?

Message: i will try to get a photo, i dont have digital camera though. they are listed in the Mopar Accessory catalog. front #82205936 transfer #82205937 Fuel tank #82203839.
they are a bit pricey, but are made out of what looks like 1/8 - 1/4 steel. they have heavy ribs in them for strenght. I only have the front one, it goes from the front crossmember to the transmission crossmember. it doesnt protect everything, but does a good job for the front axle.

Message: I have seen these before. I dont get it. THe Fuel and transfer case plate look to be the same but look nothing like my originals and I cant see how they would mount. The front suspension plate looks half the size of the original.
I assume they work and fit but how the same plate would work for the transfer case and fuel cell. They almost look like the 97-99 plates.

Message: They have the wrong pics shown on their site. They prolly didnt have any current pics so they threw those up, always good for confusing the heck outta ya. 40 is not bad for a steel trans case skid, imo.

Message: Coma,
I'm not sure, I can call dodge and ask the parts manager since he is a good friend and let you know what he says, I really don't want any money for them but if someone pays the shipping I'll spend the time to box them up. There are three pieces to the set, 2 plastic for the front axle/trans and 1 steel for the gas tank.

Message: ok, i just got back from a weekend of wheeling in Virginia. I only have the front skid plate which i got from mopar. there were alot of rocks, creek crossing and such. The plate definitely stood up to the bashing. It is scraped up, but no dents. the plate mostly protects the front diff. i recomend it, I think I paid under $100 for it from the dealer, not too bad.

Message: In 2000 they started to put on these composite material plates. The weak part was the mounting points.
A good hit and they were cracked.
Somewhere along the line apparently they started to make steel plates. I have yet to see an actual picture of them and or how the ones that have been bought mounted up on a truck.
I dont doubt they are out there now I just want to see what they look like.
