Subject: fluid for powertrax lockright?
IP: Logged

Message:
I can't find my instruction manual anywhere, and lately my locker has been makeing a loud "ching" noise on some corners. I remember reading I could not use synthetic and there was a specific weight of oil that has to be used. anyone know what it is?

I'm at a loss and need to change this.

hey man,

http://www.powertrax.com/faq.htm

according to some of the answers there, u just use what ur manufacture recommends for ur axle. No special stuff needed.

I used fluid from mopar in my dak with the no-slip.

besides the noise no real problems. I am over my changeing time. when it was installed I was told specifically not to use synthetic my rearend on occasion makes a loud metal to metal clank, just started hopefully its the fluid needing to be changed. with a high weight the noise is supposed to go away.

love my locker even when my truck was dropped it was one of my best mods ever. and now that I have tires and some height I don't think I'll ever by a 4x4 again.
