how do I know exactly what trans and axle I have? I have a 98 Dak 4x4 318 5 sp. I found the tag on the rear axle that said "35"(I assume that means 3.55 ratio), all I really found on the front axle was a dana logo and a couple of different sets of numbers. and last the tranny had the number "27381" stamped on the driver's side. My question is what dana axles do I have and which tranny? Thanks a lot any info would be greatly appreciated. DAVE

look in your glove box, that'll give you the gear ratios. i believe the 35 stands for dana 35. i would recommend calling randy's ring and pinion, than can tell you more things about your truck than you even want to know.

yes you are right the 35 its for 3.55 ratio
because mine its 39 its 3.95

Actually redak98, I think you mean 3.92, not 3.95, but you're right that the tag indicates the ratio, not the model. Menace_88M, you have a Chrysler 8.25" rear axle and a Dana 35 front.
