Message: Installed Flex-a-lite 150. Went off-road this weekend and critically overheated while slow crawling uphill. Might have to re-install the original electric and clutch fans. Does the dual flex-a-lite fan fit the daks (02 QC 4x4)?
By the way installation on the "150" was horrible what with the radiator shroud being also the overflow resevoir, etc. Bad design feature. Has anybody found solution around this bolluxed up mess?

Message: The V8's in Dakotas are too hard to keep cool. Did you try taking off the clutch fan and running just the electric fan thaat came from the factory? The Black Magic fan isn't enough and the dual fan setups are for fullsize rams.
Try the stock electric fan, if that doesn't work then get the stock electic fan out of a musng GT 94-95 preferably but 96 and up will work with some trimming

Message: have you put a cooler thermostat in there yet?
and like 4WD said, the electric fan on the dak should be enough to cool the whole thing.

Message: The best solution....leave the original equipment in place. Save your time, headaches and money and buy some beer, stand in your drive way and admire your truck the way it was built. I'm sure the engineers spent many hours and dollars making things work the way they should.

Message: Thanks one and all. I did put in the cooler thermostat. The Black Magic does at it is supposed to while driving around town (105+ degrees) even with stop and go traffic. It's only problem was off-road with engine load (uphill driving & slow - Lots of heat in Vegas area). I have considered putting the original electric back on and also the clutch fan. I don't know if the original electric alone will solve the off-road problem without adding the clutch fan for the extra cooling. Best bet would be if somebody makes dual fan for the Daks. Will investigate the mustang fan concept.
