Subject: Tuff Country 5.5" or Rancho 3"

I have a '97 Dak. I want to clear 33's no prob. maybe even 35's. I want to do a suspension lift, but cant decide on what lift to get. I have been looking at the Tuff Country 5.5" and the Rancho 3" kits with a 3" body lift. I don't want to crank my torsion bars due to the stiffer ride and added stress to the front end components. So I am not sure if I can fit the 33's with just the Rancho with no rubbing. Prefer to do all suspension. I have heard good and bad things about the Tuff Country kit. Anyone out there have any ideas?

I have a 98 CC with a 3in Rancho, 2in PA body lift and 33in BFG MT's. I had the same concerns when I researched lifting my truck. I found a lot of people who had ongoing problems with the Tuff Country lift. So, even though I really wanted to have all suspension lift, I went with the Rancho and 2in body. If I had to do it again, I would do the same thing. I haven't heard anything bad about the Rancho lift and personally I have had zero problems after 7 months now. I have plenty of room for the 33's too. The shop that did the lift didn't adjust the torsion bars correctly at first, so I took it back and had them level the truck. Believe it or not(I didn't at first) the truck drives and rides better now than it did before the lift(a new idler arm installed at the same time did help the steering out though). Hope that helps and good luck!
