Subject: No/Small Lift Tire sizes and thoughts?

Message:
I thinking about getting a Dakota CC 4x4 (Older with the manual transfer case) and V8....Im odd in the fact that A. I dont want alot of lift...just enough, and B. Body lifts are a definite no, just dont like how they look.

Now, with that in mind. Can i fit 31x12.5x15s on a stock one? Has anyone ever offroaded with this setup? How did it do? If the rubber doesnt fit where can i find a suspension lift 3" or under and $1000 or under? I wanna keep the stock rims and put very large street radials on for winter/draging and not have it look all weird, that and i have at least 2 short people around that hate lifted trucks. Any ideas?

As far as the tire size you might be able to stuff that size with out any lift and just minor fender trimming. If you end up with a suspension lift you might want to try a Rancho lift or even a fabtech lift.

Fabtech doesn`t make anything for 4WD Dakotas of any year , so don`t bother looking for one.

What year is your Dakota , it will make a huge difference if the 31X12.50s will fit or not. If it`s not a 3rd gen Dakota (97-up) there`s no way those tires will fit without lifting it. If it`s a 97-up model , as stated above , they might fit with some trimming.

You are not going to find a susp. lift for under $1000 , as the only one available in the 3in. range ,is Rancho and it`s around $1200-1400 just for the kit , then you`d need to have it installed , unless you have the tools and know-
how to do it yourself.

I have a 98 Durango. I had 33" tires on it when it was stock. I installed a 3" body lift and I now have 35" MTR's on it
