I'm looking for some suggestions for beginner level trails in North GA to take my 4.7 QC 4x4.
Anyone any suggestions? Any clubs in the area?

I live in gwinnett county about 45 minutes NE of ATlanta. I don't know of many trails but there is rich mountain. i haven't been there but am going this summer. it looks pretty cool. if you live around gwinnett county you should go offroadin with me and some friends sometimes. we only have illegal trails here. no legal ones.

be careful with rich mountain. I took my 02 dakota 4x4 there new and it was a good trail, but a few more inches of clearance would have been very very helpful. Also, it is a long trail, somewhere to the tune of about 5 hrs. I would honestly suggest turning around when you get about half way and heading back out the same way you came or else you will scratch your truck, cuz the end of the trail gets very narrow and has branches and sticks hanging out all over the place. The beggining of the trail though is great, has good articulation places, wide open, many different lines to run, but not to many if any mud puddles. It also has by sections for when you get to a spot that's to difficult to make in a stock vehicle. And 94dakota, i live in carrollton but i grew up in tucker and am familiar with most of gwinnett county, shoot me an e-mail if you wanna go riding sometime. I've got a buddy down here that knows some good "not quiet legal" trails. Robbyadams@hotmail.com
sorry for the length hope it helps

elijay. I couldn't tell you how to get there, but search the web for rich mountain and ga offroad trails, and you'll find directions, pictures, descriptions, and whole lot of info and stuff on it.

right now i'm down in carrollton, but i my parents live down in stone mountain. If i stayed with my parents i could probably get to rich mountian in about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. I'm getting a lift for my truck so i "might" take it back on rich mountain. I know my roomate would and he's got a toy, but that's cuz he's got 3 more in of clearance stock than i do.

went offroadin around my house last sunday at a place us locals call it flatrock. it was a sweet ride, we had about 10 vehicles. there is somethin called the john deer hole and we forgot to tell a friend not to go through it in his wrangler. well he did and he has 35's and the mud was half way up his spare tire. I just thought I would let yall know, and see if anyone know's about flatrock. yeah illegal, didn't see any DNR though, so that's good. well I'm out later. and I got a cb, and it's sweet, just thought I would let yall know.

Belton Bridge, around the Cleremont area. i can give you directions if your interested, but i gotta know where your comin from. Got stuck there on monday, not really trails, just a bunch of watery holes and mud, but nontheless its pretty fun.

btw, i have a friend in Dahlonega that says hes going to take me on some cool trails with his durango (he hates mud boggin, he said he'd take me on some real trails), i'll let ya know where they are and if they're any good when he does.
