Message: higher in the front? they must be high and the trendy type. i have my truck lifted a toal of 4" and it isnt higher in the front. i live in norcal with plenty of wheeling trucks. higher in the front and they are either fresh lifts or compensating for the weight, or dont know what theyre doing. its odd to see that, as driving on or off-road would be much more difficult. to deliberately lift it higher in the front serves no purpose.
they really are fun to point and laugh at!

Message: I HAVE A 1992 DAKOTA. I BOUGHT A TRAILMASTER 4" LIFT AND 32" TIRES ON 15X8" WHEELS. THE PLACE I TOOK IT TO SAID I NEED 31'S BECAUSE OF BACKSPACING ISSSUES.THE WHEELS WILL HIT THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS. BUT I HAVE READ ABOUT PEOPLE USING 32'S. HOW DID IT WORK? I REALLY NEED A GOOD OPINION ON THIS.

Message: The tire size is not the issue, it's the backspacing of the rims. As long as you use rims with no more than 4 1/8", as recomended in the installation instructions, you will not have a problem. My '88 Dakota has 33x14.50 Baja Claws on 15x10 rims with a 3 1/2" backspacing. If you use Rims with the correct backspacing, the inner sidewall of the tire will be to the outside of the upper ball joint.

Message: Depends on the backspacing of your rims. Take one of your rims, a yardstick and a tape measure. Set the rim on the ground with the face down. Place the yardstick across the back of the rim so it touches the edges and passes over the center. With the tape measure, measure the distance between the yardstick and the mounting surface of the rim. That measurement is your backspacing and cannot exceed 4 1/8 inches. As long as you stay within that measurement, you wont have a problem with clearing the upper control arm. The stock rims have more backspacing and won’t clear. I recommend a rim in the 3 ½ “ backspacing range with a 32x11.50. As long as you have at least a 1/2 “ between the upper ball joint/control arm and the inside sidewall of the tire, there wont be a problem. However, you may experience some slight rubbing on the fender under compression while turning under. Trailmaster recommends a 31” with the kit but you should be able to fit a 32”
