I am driving down from the Bay area for the meet, I just looked up Cal City and you are out there aways but how long does it take you to get to 14 and I-5? About 45 minutes from there or so. It would be great to hook up with you if you like.

Message: Hey Chris!!
Thanks for believing it wasn't me throwing mud on the other post!!!
Question for ya seeing as you have tried every tire size known to man!! I'm looking at getting 32"X11.50" tires for my 16" rims, but i don't know the metric sizing im looking for. The guys at the tires store said i want 265/70/R16, and that didn't sound right to me cause i thought that was the stock tires height. I'm hoping the size i'm looking for is 285/75/R16, cause there are some sweet brand new Goodyear mud terrains on ebay for $300 bucks right now that i wouldn't mind bidding on, and some cheap Goodyear Wrangler tires (like stock ones) but the 285/70/R16 for even cheaper i wouldn't mind getting too, and i could have them both for the price of a new set of BFG All-terrains at the tire store.
thanks for everything!!!!

Message: Arthur use this link to help out.
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/tech/tools/tirecalc.html
I found that while you can put in any combo of size, they have to make it to.
Looks like the 285x70x16 is close. If you can find such a tire, 295x70x16 is the size you want.
But I think you will only find the 285's. Get your tire guy on the phone if you get confused he will help out. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the last guy I got tires from. We talked everything from 245's up to 305's.
I hate the 16" rims. I may wnat to get ride of them when I get the rims back from you. I want to try a few things out to see what I like first. I really like the 33x10.5x15 MT's I got. MY 285x75x16 AT's are kind of bugging me now so I am trying to decide waht to do here.
Let me know what you come up with.
I think we will be at Pismo Memorial weekend, most of the gang.

Message: Hey Chris,
Thanks a lot for the info, i really got confused talking to the tire guy cause he was so positive that 265/70 = 32X11.50, and i thought otherwise. Now i know i can use either tire set if they work out.
If you decide against the BFG All-terrains, and they are still in good condition (say 3,000-8,000 miles on them), i'd be willing to part $250-$300 depending on condition for the tires, and then i could give you back the rims that day too.
Just something to think about if you decide 15" rims/tires are going to be your norm, and i'd rather have the all-terrains then the tires i'm looking at right now anyways.
Ohhh, and i got on the list for a set of 4.56 gears front and rear for my truck when they arrive sometime in the next 30-60 days, do you think the gears will work well with our trucks?
Thanks Chris!!!!!!

Another thing along with the tires. You said something in another post about Rancho shocks at Napa, if this is true, do they have decent pricing, or should i look else where.

ED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ed proved this weekend at Azusa canyon that this idiot with the hummer was not needed. After watching a full size bronco and then a full size 350 diesel attempt to extract a full size blazer from deep waters and mud and then this string of a strap and rope snap, Ed pulls up in his Dakota throws out a real tow strap. THe crowd of at least 25 trucks looking on is pretty much laughing at Ed. But in the end 1.....2.......3 good jerks and the blazer is free and can now start bailing the water from the cab. I have photo's and will post them when I get back home Thursday. Everyone SHUT UP real quick and the blazer driver says, guess I need me one of them!!!
To bad the canyon had more water than needed but we still got to thrash around and get muddy.
Ed, that reminded me of the time everyone laughed at us (DJ and I) pulling the full size suburban out at Pismo but 3 pulls and he was out.
Thanks for the good time and I loved the ending as the Ford throws his rear drive shaft. I think we all saw it coming.
Thanks to Eric for driving up from Escondido. Hope you enjoyed it as well!
I will let you know when I get my photo's up they speak for themselves.
Hey Arthur,
You doing anything on Wednesday? PISMO??? I am returning then, I am pretty sure and Think I will drop in for some dune action.

Message: You know, at least the Hummer went in and got muddy which I respect, most of those guys just sit and show how much money they have, like the lifted and chromed Super Duty crowd. No plans to go back in the future, but that can change, all it takes usually is a phone cal to/from Rob (ss454) but I'm working this and next weekend (gotta pay for the headers and Kenne-Bell PCM flash that I'm getting), so that's out :(

Yeah Ed, the Hummer guy did get respect when he finally plunged the water and almost stalled out!
How about MR Lights! He was clean the whole time even as he left! Wonder if he ever uses them lights?
Off to Pismo tomorrow to end my trip to the South land. I have gotten a few walk ups and questions while here and lots of stares and double takes.
